Wendy's Baked Oyster Blade

This is my mum Wendy's recipe, and has long been one of my favorites! It is best with oyster blade, but also great with an other steak.

You will need (per portion/person)

  • 1 piece of steak 200-400 g,
  • 1 piece of foil to fully seal package,
  • 1 - 2 bacon rashers,
  • 4 sliced mushrooms,
  • 1 knob of REAL butter
  • 1/4 to 1/3 of a packet of French onion soup.

To assemble, wrap bacon around steak, top with mushrooms, butter and shop mix. Wrap well and pop in oven at 160-180 degrees. Cook for at least 1 and a half hours, I often bake a few potatoes at the same time then serve with salad or veg.  I generally do extra portions of this steak  as it is so fabulous! It's great to use leftovers in a pie, add tomato and mashed potato to the top. It's great!
